Trading Computers

My uncle has a question for me -- what type of computer do you need for day trading?

He referred me to this site where he wants to buy a computer -- www.tradingcomputers.com. But they are pricey computers. Judging by what they sell, you can get those parts bought from Tiger Direct for much less money.

So...what type of computer do you need to watch trades/stocks? Does it have to be custom, or will a Dell/Emachines work?

i dont trade or anything but i think that any computer that has some speed would do fine. i dont see why they would make it hard for a consumer to trade and spend all that money.

Would it be cheaper to build a computer, or go to Best Buy and purchase a nice computer with those components? Because $1400 seems expensive for a AMD 4400+, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, etc...

Obviously it's going to be cheaper to build it, or major companies like dell, compaq, emachines wouldn't make enough money to stay in business.

I see, because $1300 is crazy for those components. Building would cost $900.
