After getting some good reviews from friends, and reading more on the net, I was thinking of upgrading some components on my PC. Specifically, the graphics card, and possibly the CD/DVD drive, from what they are now, to a Palit 460 Sonic Platinum, 1024MB, and a Blu-Ray player
Would like to know if the setup I have in mind would be suitable. Many thanks.

Asus P5Q Pro Turbo LGA775 DDR2 motherboard
Intel Core 2 Q6600 Clock 2.4GHz, FSB 1066MHz Processor
No sound card
BFG GeForce GTX+ 9800 OC GFX card ---> Palit 460 Sonic Platinum 1024MB GDDR5
2x2GB RAM 1066MHz DDR2
750W PSU
A Dell CD/DVD drive cannibalised from a previous system.

You will be paying for a factory overclocked card with only a two year warranty. The first rule of buying a graphics card is to NEVER pay for a factory overclock as you can overclock it yourself with almost no effort. The second rule is to check the warranty.

If you are set on a GTX4xxx series card, check the warranties on all of them. EVGA used to offer lifetime warranties on all their cards, but has dropped it to two years on many of them. XFX still offers a double lifetime warranty on the majority of their cards. VisionTek offers a lifetime on some of theirs. BFG did, but they have gotten out of the GFX card business.
