The truth is, the PSU is the most important piece of hardware you put in a computer. Everything, and I do mean everything, else depends on it. If a PSU blows, it very seldom does not take something else out with it.

All PSus are not created equal. High performance components require a lot of power, and that power needs to be steady. A cheap PSU may not give the power needed (amps) or it may not supply that power evenly. Either way it is bad for both the performance of the computer as a whole and is extremely bad for the survival of the components themselves.

Think of it as customizing a Ferrari or a Corvette, and then putting kerosene or diesel in the tank to run it.
