Thermal Grease used on CPU?

I am looking for advice. I use thermal grease on my cpu. I wonder if that is a doable substance or not?

I hope my cpu is not going to fried soon with thermal grease.

As far as I know,thermal grease is designed for that purpose:to place it between the CPU core and the heatsink.

Who told you otherwise? If thermal paste was a bad thing we wouldn't have it...

There HAS to be a thermal compound of some kind between the CPU and the heat sink, otherwise the CPU would overheat and burn up.

Can you give us a brand name of what you used? Hopefully it was something SPECIALIZED for use in a PC, and not just some random substance you used....
