well i'm almost done with my new pc i just got the chip and graphics card to get

mobo - gigabyte DS3R
cpu - Q9450
gpu - 9800gxt (or a 9900gtx if there out when i get money)
ram - 8GB ocz PC2-8500 platinum ram, 5-5-5-15 timing's and 1066mhz (madness )
psu - corsair 750w TX
case - nexus caterpillar (www.aria.co.uk/components/cases/MIDI+Tower/Nexus+Caterpillar+-+Silenced+ATX+Case+?productid=28763)
HDD - 2x 500gb western digital drives

i also have some bog standard DVD drives

so what do you think and is there anything i could add

Please for the love of all things good, don't get over 4GB of ram. The extra 4 really won't help unless you are running a server motherboard and applications. The card is good. The CPU is good right now, but you may want to hold off because there will be better soon. Plus, I've heard that the Q9450 has a wall when overclocking...

If you don't plan to overclock much, then this build should suit you... just don't get those extra 4GB!

i haven't got the 8gb ram yet

i've heard the Q9450 has a wall but i'm planning on overclocking a slight bit if at all

i have seen the Q9450 at 3.7ghz (Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 Review - Overclockers Club)

I would not go with 8GB RAM. All you need is 4GB max, 8 is just a waste of money.

^ i havent got the 8gb of ram yet but the cost would be £100 more then 4gb of ram so i'm not going for it

i was thinking it was a good thourght at the time
