Default Swopping Screens on laptop

Hiya folks am hoping to learn a lot here as for a few years have been fixing my own pc's laptops due to lack of money! i have had a laptop given and am wondering if i can put my presario F500 screen in a pavilion DV4000 i know it sounds stupid but got given the DV4000 and it works but screen is smashed and the F500 is getting worn out...any advice welcome thank you...June

Do you want to swap out the entire enclosure or just the LCD panels of each screen? If the LCD's are the same size and use the same connector then you probably will be able to, however if you wan't to swap the entire fixture then you have to make sure that other things align and fit correctly such as the WiFi antenna and possibly webcam wires.
