Default Swapping old hard drives

I just built a new computer, but all of my music and video files are in the old PC's slave drive. If I put the old drive into my new computer will my data be accessible or will I have to format it to use it?

The data will be accessible, but any programs installed on it before it was switched over will be useless.

That's perfect because there aren't any programs on it.

Thanks for your help. This thread has served it's purpose.
