Swapping CPU's

This may be a dumb question as I'm far behind and have never really followed AMD but can these CPU's be swapped?

Currently the PC has an "AMD A6-3600 Quad Core". I'm looking at replacing it with either of these two CPU's... "AMD Phenom II X6 1045T 6 Core CPU or AMD Phenom II X4 945 Quad Core CPU".

sorry, your cpu is socket fm1.

the phenoms are am3

that means the new ones wont work. youre looking at a motherboard change to upgrade.

If you are doing a full upgrade might as well go Intel.
