I have been troubleshooting a monitor problem for a senior that lives near me and have concluded that the monitor is defective. It is a 19" widescreen. She wants to replace it with the same size monitor, something between $150 and $200, Quality is more important than price, need something that will last. Any suggestions on which monitors out there would be the best for a senior with eyes that are not as good as us young guys? She'd mainly be using the computer for video chat with distant relatives on Skype and e-mail.

I have a Samsung 226BW on my home machine that I love and I thought since I've had such good luck with that monitor I'd look at a Samsung for her as well. This is the one I've been eyeing.

Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 953BW High-gloss Black 19" 5ms (2ms GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 8000:1(1000:1) - LCD Monitors
