It would be good to have, if your temperatures a high, or if you're overclocking.

Are there any more decent solutions for speakers or should I just not bother getting new ones? My dad thinks $53 is too much for a set.

What's a good temperature monitoring program & what's considered too high of a temperature?

Good temperature monitoring programs are Everest and Speedfan.

Generally you want an idle temperature of 30-40C, and a load temperature below 60C.

$53? The Logitechs that Law suggested, are only $38.99

You could try these Newegg.com - Logitech S200 30 watts 2.1 Black Speaker - OEM

But I would suggest the other one I posted.

Meh I'll just go with the first speakers.

So basically I don't need anything else to build the PC right? ie. power cords/cables or something?

If you want a cheap Intel go for the celeron Processors. and they are multi task too. I really don't reconmend for you to get an AMD they suck! An intel celeron D would work fine
