what would you guys recomend for a sound card though? and ill prolly get a cheaper video card for now or when the time comes. and just build the rest. because the gaming/movies part isnt too important to me. i'd rather have a daily use and then upgrade the video/sound cards later. so what do you guys think?

Moved to Audio Section

I'm going to leave this one to an Audio Expert (and I'm not one.. ricanflow or EricB are good ones..)

Check out the Xonar/ X-Fi XtremeMusic / Auzentech X-Fi

So if my recommendations are crap EricB or Louis don't kill me!

i personally like the asus xonar (i use it and an aardvark 8 channel direct input)

it doesnt skip like alot of the "gamer extreme" cards when recording with Adobe Audition (im talking 3-4 tracks at a time, minimum.. those cards just cant handle it)

the asus xonar does fine for me, so thats my recommendation,

but if your just playing games and watching movies you wont need something like this, and any of the x-fi cards are fine
