So I'm trying to install Windows XP home on this motherboard I have a 250 gig ATA hard drive and when I try to install windows it either A: locks up and says that I have a motherboard not fully compatable with ACPI technology (a blue screen) or when I put in the boot CD another thing that can happen is that I'll get an Ntfs.sys not found error.

Now when I go to install Ubuntu Linux it gives me a kernal panic error and I'm assuming that this all has to do with this ACPI thing, there is a setting for ACPI under power management there are three settings, if anyone wants to know them I'll get them.

Also this is a chaintech snf4-2 motherboard with a phenox bios.

Also I have two hard drive now with Windows XP on them I go to boot mine up (it's been on there for a while) and I just get a gray screen. I go to boot the new one up and it gives me a prompt to start in safe mode, normal, etc...
