So I'm trying to install Windows XP home on this motherboard I have a 250 gig ATA hard drive and when I try to install windows it either A: locks up and says that I have a motherboard not fully compatable with ACPI technology (a blue screen) or when I put in the boot CD another thing that can happen is that I'll get an Ntfs.sys not found error.
Now when I go to install Ubuntu Linux it gives me a kernal panic error and I'm assuming that this all has to do with this ACPI thing, there is a setting for ACPI under power management there are three settings, if anyone wants to know them I'll get them.
Also this is a chaintech snf4-2 motherboard with a phenox bios.
