Default Slower RAM than motherboard expects

Is it possible to use PC2100 RAM (DDR226) in a motherboard that expectes PC2700 (DDR333)?

Yea, the memory will only run at that set speed. Why buy PC2100 memory when PC3200 is in most cases cheaper and easier to find ?

He probably already has a stick of PC2100, which is why I said, "Only one way to find out."
