Scalable Link Interface

SLI allows 2 video cards to link together and become more powerful.

It's quite effective if I must say so myself. Definetely a good feature.

Going to be required to play any of the new games within the year. It is a very good idea to buy a mobo (motherboard) with SLI features. Usually they come packed with pci-e (pci-express), which is another good feature! PCI-E cards are more effective and cost less then AGP cards... im tired.... must sleep.

wow, you got some rotten responses. In reality, it's marketing hype to get you to buy 2 video cards instead of one. It decieves the common buyer into thinking that they'll recieve double the performance. Realistically, at best, you'll see a 30-35% increase. It's a terrible money-pit and is completely frivoulous except for a few spotty purposes when you're buying high-end cards.

Well, the advantages of SLI havnt taken full effect yet. When a computer will be able to utilize SLI it will be an extreme boost to performance.

well i would say get two 6800 gs's, both of them put together pack more punch than 1 7800gtx 256mb in some games, and its only 400 bucks for 2, when i see most 7800 gtx's are 450.. saves you 50 bucks!
