Default SLI 7600gt's or 7900gt?

Got a quick question. Ive got about ~400 bux to spend on a video card (pci-e), and I cant decide on what I want to do. Run dual evga 7600gt's in SLI or run one evga 7900gt. If anyone has other suggestions on what video card(s) to buy with $400, please let me know.

thank you

If anyone wonders why im buying a pcie card but have a agp mobo (check my sig), its becuase ive recently bought a pcie SLI board.

the single 7900 GT will perform better. it has 24 pixel pipelines.
the 7600 GT has 12 pixel pipelines, but SLI does not give twice the performance. only about 1.5 times on average.

a better reason to get the single 7900GT now is that later on, you can add the second 7900GT to have a 7900GT SLi setup.

I would be really tempted by this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102004

As it is the better card, being able to do 2x AA 2x AF and HDR in one cycle apposed to the 3 the nvidia card has to do, but the drivers will always make it a hard choice, as they do not do the card justice. I think that I would have to go for the ATI if it was my money though...

wow, I really think I may get that card if I have enough money left-over after psu/mobo. Thanx for opening my eyes to ATI lol

also, that wouldnt work with a SLI board would it?

You can't run crossfire with 2 of them on an SLI board, but one will work (or 2 individually) on a SLI board.
