Should I update my BIOS?

I just bought a computer a couple of months ago and i never really thought of the BIOS and what it does. I use my computer for many things including a lot of gaming. Well if anyone out there knows anything about BIOS and what if i should upgrade it, i'd really appreciate any help!!

i heard if you flash a bios on a build from dell or emachine, you can unlock the stuff in the bios?

cause i want to OC my dell, but its locked obviously
