so i havea really shitty dell dimension 2350 with a p4 1.8ghz and 512mb of ram. should i upgrade it with 450$ worth of stuff....or spend like 400-450 on building my own?

there's not much you could upgrade to make that dell better, so like macdude said if you tell us what you'll be using the computer for we can help you.

well i want a gaming computer that can handle oblivion and stuff. i mean i don't want it to beat the **** out of the game...but i want it to at least be able to put oblivion or blood money on a relatively high graphics level (not highest)

you're not gonna be able to play oblivion on relatively high settings for $450. you should see if you can increase your budget like macdude said.

You can get something like this, BUT there are a few IF's to throw in...

This setup is a basic system... nothing fancy... 433.00 without shipping...

You have to take the Hard drive, DVD and CD drives from your old computer... And you have to get an OS cause when you pull the hard drive you have to reformat when you build... barring that, you might need to up your budget some, if you wanna get the rest of the parts instead of pulling...
