Unhappy Server Building Fatal Error

My friend and I built a server using 2 Intel Xenon processors, 2 patriot 512 ddr mb, plextor dvd-rw, asus ncch-dr mainboard, maxtor ata harddrives 120 gb and we also tried an western digital ide harddrive. The problem we're having is after we got through the copying process of the windows professional xp files, it restarts and starts the 2nd portion of the installation process and a fatal error occurs. The computer had Windows professional 2000 and it ran fine but my friend wants windows XP professional.

the fatal error says there is a component error that will not allow the windows XP installation continue. The 1st part of the installation loads up all the components and hardware then the next seems to not work because i'm guessing it may be reading different hardware. confused!
