Second HD questions

Hi, I'm new to these boards, so... Hi!

Well, I recently completed a new build and as stated, I've got a question about adding a second HD. I currently have a 60 GB ATA 133 Maxtor drive and I've been pondering which interface my next drive should use. I could easily just go with another ATA 133 drive, but some shops are running good deals on Western Digital drives, but they are ATA 100. If I ran them one the same IDE channel, should I expect to see a decrease in performance?

I've also looked into some Serial ATA interfaces and I ask a similar question. If I ran the ATA 133 and a Serial ATA (of course, I know they wouldnt be on the same chain) would that negitivily impact my performance?

Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

I believe that you would notice a decrease in performance if you pursued the ATA 100 drives.

Alternately, you would definitely notice an increase in performance if you got an SATA drive. I may be mistaken, but I do not believe your current ATA 133 would affect the performance of a new serial drive.
