Nope, trying to get all of the data off of this one (somewhat broken) onto another one

If you are doing what I pointed out earlier in the thread then you will have to have the same model.

If you are just replacing the drive with another and copying the data to a different drive then you can use any drive you want.

instead of the serial number, you might mean that you want the model, firmware and revision number for a perfect match?
