Save or Scrap

I'll be building my own computer in a month or so, and what was wondering what if anything I should try to save on my old computer

HP
833 intel Processor
196 Meg ram
48x CD drive 4x burner
48x cd drive
40 gig HD
Window's ME
Keyboard/Mouse
15 inch monitor
Crappy old HP case with manyt things broken off from getting pissed and kicking it


I'm thinking maybee the CD burner, and possibly the HD, but other than that I don't see much worth keeping

keep it. That would make a nice file server, or apache server. Or if you have a favorite game you like to play, you can host your own dedicated servers.

And if you want to get rid of it, you could sell it on TF.

I second keeping it. I have a P3 1.2 Ghz, Asus motherboard, that runs Windows XP. It works fine and my kids have great use of it.

Haha. I still use my old dual-P2. Makes a nice Linux-box. The case was beat up on mine too, so I bought a new cheapo-brand case for it =)

I love old computers. I have a few laying around. Fun to play with and to test stuff on that you are afraid might blow up your nice PC. I have an old optiplex that changes OSes and roles in my network like every 3 days.
