Im looking to get a new harddrive for my computer, and my motherboard accepts SATA150 interfaces. Since im going to upgrade my motherboard and everything next year to SATA2, i was thinking i might be able to buy an SATA2 now, and just use it again when i upgrade. Are SATA2 harddrives backwards compatable with regular SATA? Or will I have to buy an SATA150 hard drive now, and an SATA2
next year?

I woudlnt be able to use my sata150 cable on the sata2 hard drive ( to my knowledge), and since the harddrives ive looked at are OEM, where would i get the cable?

You will be able to use the Sata150 with the Sata300/2 motherboards. It will just work the the Sata150 speed
