sata what?!

Okay, so I got this maxtor sata1 drive, 320GB 16MB cache....blah blah MaxLine3 series... and I hooked it up, to replace an older IDE hdd, as the primary boot drive. I was going to use this Acronis disk utility to copy hdd to hdd; however, windows xp is having trouble noticing the sata drive.

I tried running the 'add hardware wizard' and it appears on the list... and it also pops up on my raid software... but I can't find it under the my computer directory, nor does it come up with the Acronis (or any other similar hdd copy utility...).

Please drop me some advice, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Double check you've connected the sata cable properly, I think one can get the ends mixed up. Also make sure it's on the correct sata channel not the raid one. And of course that it's set to slave properly.
Is the drive showing up in the BIOS?
