I was thinking about changing over my hardrives and cd/dvd burner over to SATA.

Each slot controls only one device?

Pros and cons?

i wouldn't change them over using an ide to sata converter if that what you are talking about. if you are buying a new hdd then sata is edfinitely the way to go. the drives are faster (with lots of room for higher speed drives in the future), cables are easier to work with because they are a lot smaller, they are also keyed so that they can not be plugged in backwards. using sata provides higher overall speed because each drive has a dedicated controller whereas IDE is slower with 2 drives on a cable
