Peace people..
I'm just getting into the SATA 2 business, and i have to ask a stupid question, probably.
Are there any variations of SATA 2? for example, the links description below Says its SATA 2.5, i figured its just a good 'ole SATA 2..
umm, this is a SATA 2 drive correct? Its just labeled as "SATA Internal Hard Drive" and not SATA II or SATA 300 Internal Hard drive
Amazon.com: Seagate 500 GB Barracuda 7200.9 SATA Internal Hard Drive ( ST3500641AS-RK ): Electronics
i also read on another site that some drives can be labeled as having a 3gb/s transfer rate which is really 300 mb/s transfer rate, but if they (manufacturer) don't label their hDD as SATA 2 then its not.. Is this true?
is SATA 300 aka SATA 2?
theres a local store selling a SATA 2 500 GB for $174.00 please take a look here..

But if i can get a 500 gb sata 2 online for much cheaper than i'd rather not take the plunge n get ripped off..
so here is the SATA 2 i plan on getting..

am in in the right path?
thanks
ALSO... MY MOTHERBOARD DOESNT HAVE any sata ports.. internally or externally.
so could someone recommend a very inexpensive SATA 2 PCI expansion card? i only need 1 port really.. internal.. preferably under 20 bucks... i have to transfer some data from my IDE HDDs to his SATA2 HDD.. The Computer Spot over here as one for 25 bucks but its PCI-E, and my PCI-E slot is occupied.
