Recording phone calls on the computer

Any of you fellas know how to record [regular phone-line] calls on the PC? Obviously, I'd need to get a Voice capable modem. Since I don't have one yet, I can just buy what I need. I just don't want to spend any $$ on the necessary software.

Does anyone know of a good hardware/software combo for around $30 (US)? If the s/w comes with the modem in question, that'll be a bonus. But freely downloadable s/w is just fine. Thanks.

Symantec used to have some answering machine software. I think it was bundled in with Win Fax.
You can set it up to record incoming phone calls.

No. However I was have the receiving end of my last employeers (2001) blame storm as he used to listen to the recordings just so he could dig into us.
