Could you give us a bit more? Like the manufacturer and the model?

What is your budget and what do you plan to do with it?

My budget is pretty flexible, my intention is to get as much visual graphics out of it as possible

Im looking at running two SLI cards from it. Would also like to overclock it. Ultimately I plan to play SWTOR on it if that game ever gets released.

Just thought of something. What case do you have?

Edit:

Definately get a C2D Quad, 8GB RAM, get a SSD, and 1.5TB WD Black HDD.

Well, you have to register to get access to XFX's support pages (WTF?). Anyway, XFX should have a listing of what CPU's can be used in your board.

As for MoM's suggestions... a Core2Quad is a definite. 8GB is a maybe as 4GB will handle just about anything (8GB is good for video work and stuff like Photoshop). An SSD is a good idea but they are not cheap. A 1.5TB would work for a data drive or a backup, but I would go for a 500GB or so WD Black for my programs (or even two of them in RAID0... or four in RAID10).

The CM690 is a great case. Populate any empty fan holes and you should be good.

Thanks guys, I am already beginning to compile a list.

Does this link help for Motherboard specs?

Sorry but no. I did, however, find this one:
http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/produc...List-Intel.pdf

It looks like you can use any of the following CPUs:
  • QX6850
  • QX6800
  • X6800
  • QX6800
  • QX6700
  • Q6700
  • Q6600 (102W and 95W)
  • Any Core2Duo (E4300-E8600)
  • Any Pentium Dual core (E2140-E5300)

Of course, XFX's support site may have more listed that require a BIOS update. These may or may not require a BIOS update; the list does not specify.
