RAM Upgrade Question
Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my RAM because it's almost Black Friday and I figure I can score some cheap bargains on some nice dual channel 2 GB.

The motherboard I'm currently running is a Gigabyte M57SLI-S4. I've researched and found the max memory capacity to be 16 gigabytes (this is where things get weird). However, I'm using the System Information for Windows utility and it says that my maximum memory capacity is 2 GB. How can this be? It also says that the maximum memory module size is 1 GB. It should be noted that I'm currently only using 2GB and it is split between two modules. Does this mean I can't upgrade? What would be right in this case the software or the motherboard manufacturer? Is there something wrong that I can fix, perhaps upgrading my BIOS?

Edit: Also, the current RAM I am using has CAS of 5-5-5-18 @ 400 mhz. The RAM I want to buy has CAS of 5-5-5-15. Does having a slower CAS on the other two modules generally effect me a lot?

Re: RAM Upgrade Question
If I'm not mistaken the RAM will work at the slowest speed of the modules.
Trust the motherboard manufacturer.

Re: RAM Upgrade Question
Hmm okay, so can I assume this as the goahead to buy more RAM?
