RAM trouble

Hey people I was looking and I think my motherboard can only take 1GB sticks or ram and not 2. I just want to be sure this is correct because getting a 2GB stick would really solve a lot of my problems. My board I think is a little fu*ked :-( it will not allow me to have 2 sticks of ram in at once for some reason. Now this never used to be a problem and I have tried the 2 old 512 sticks of ram that used to work but still same problem. The computer dose not load just a lot of beeping :-( anyone any idea's?

Did you look up the meaning of the beep code in the motherboard manual?

Have you checked to see if they're the same speed? It could also be a faulty RAM.
