Ram questions

My next upgrade is right before the holidays and i think im going to upgrade my ram. i run this cheap alienware PC3200 (i call it cheap because i can find a brand name on it. anyways im not looking forward to upgrade my motherboard to DDR2 so ill just go with faster DDR.
i wanted to know if theres a good increase in performance of getting something like-oh i dont know like DDR500 or 533?
or is my ram fine for this era of technology and just get a new case.

Uh...If you're motherboard can't support higher than pc3200(ddr400) then there is absolutely no point in gettings DDR500, for the DDR500 will just slow down to speeds of DDR400.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I don't think I am.

But pc3200 is fine, good RAM. And seeing you have 1gb of it in your sig, I say you're perfectly fine.

Unless your overclocking, whatever they gave you will be fine.
