Default ram/memory stick comparisons

whats the difference between
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145505
and
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145440

is it just that one is 1stick of 1gb and the other is 2 sticks of 512 mb?
is there any performance difference

if not, would the 1gb single stick be of more value since i can later upgrade it to 2gb?

well, i heard 512 running dual is better, but it also depends on how many slots you got on your mobo. if 4slots then 2 512 is fine, how much memory you want to max at? 1gb?

i would say get the 1GB stick. it would be better, then you can buy another one for dual channel later.
