Default Ram

My friend said I need to get more RAM for my computer, like 512MB of RAM. I don't know what it even is. Can somebody help me understand what he's talking about, maybe a picture or link showing where to get it or something?

I appreciate any help.

RAM is memory for the computer.

Is there anything good about the evaluation version? What is it?

From looking at the model of your computer, I found out that it is DDR RAM. Also you can download a program called CPU-Z that will tell all this info about your computer. Post back and tell us what kind of memory you have.

I downloaded the CPU-Z program and this is what it says under memory:

Type: DDR
Size: 512 MB
Channel #: Dual
Performance Mode: Disabled

If it says dual I think it's running in dual channel mode which means if you have 512mb you have 2 x 256mb running. I suggest you get this instead if you can afford it:

I can afford both but will I be ok in the future with just 1G of RAM? Or should I get 2x 1G of RAM?

2 x 1gb is optimal for everything it is better, but you could always get it later on. Also you could sell your current RAM in your system and get the 2 x 1gb RAM.
