hello,
My computer is about 2,5 years old now and the videocard is acting up so i'm planning on buying a new one. I've got a P4 3.2 ghz, 1gig mb memory with a asus p4s800 mobo so no reason to buy a top end one, just one thats a bit better then the old one.

the card im replacing is a ati radeon 9800 pro 128.
I've looked on newegg and the specs of the radeon seems better and it's cheaper. Decision made or is the geforce in some way better? ( check the subject to which cards im refering.) Both are AGP cards. I don't ave a pci-e slot.

7600GS is much better than X1600pro

You can see some benchmarks here

7600GS can even beat X1650pro

beat me to it maroon1,

but yep, the 7600gs is alot better.....

why not go for a 7800GS though?? thats the top AGP card out there right now. i have one and i can personally tell you its worth all of its price. makes my AGP rig scream past most of my friends 7600GTs and stuff.

thanks for the input. I guess I'll go for the geforce 7600GS. I'm not going for the 7800 because it costs dubble and since my computer is pretty old I don't need a topnotch card.

Still pretty weird though since the specs of the radeon seem so much better.
