Default quick upgrade for older pc

my buddy wants to update his pc (3200xp amd) with an AGP card.. he says he wants to keep the AGP video card and IDE hard drives.

He just wants to update the mobo, cpu, and ram... he plays a couple games, nothing too intense and basically uses it for word processing, documentation, etc.. Thanks!

Makes no sense to upgrade all those components while still keeping an AGP motherboard. I'm not even sure they make mobos with AGP slots anymore. What is the AGP video card that he has?

As for the IDE drives, no problem keeping those.

Whats his budget?
