I bought a Cheetah 10K rpm 18gb drive awhile back and never got around to messing with it. I was wanting to use it as a OS drive but dont have a controller card. My drive is an Ultra wide SCSI2 I believe, it may be a simple thing but has anyone really done this kinda thing before? What kinda card should I get? How much do they routinely cost? I built my own computer so I know a fair amount and am pretty sure I could do this but dont want to buy the wrong thing or something. Any help appreciated.

Why did you buy a SCSI HDD at only 18gig and 10,000rpm's?
Controller cards are pretty damn expensive also. Anywhere from $100 to $2000...

You could have bought a 74GIG WD RAPTOR @10,000rpm for $165.00 and if you need it a SATA controller card for like $60.
You could have saved like $100.00 and got 74gig instead of 18gig?

I think I have seen 30$ controller cards

Anyways, their's paralell port to SCSI adaptors as I use one to backup to a SCSI drive for off site storage. However this really nerfs your speed.

i got the drive for like 18 bucks off ebay and it was brand new. I was young and foolish and though my Sweet ass Soyo had SCSI. I didnt spend much on it.
