When building your own computer do you still need a floppy or are they still required.

you don't really need them anymore. most everything comes on cd's these days. it's been years since i have used a floppy drive.

Short answer: no.

Long answer: It is always convenient to have a floppy drive around, or at least I think so. You may need one to load RAID or SATA drivers during the Windows installation, but I think that even that can be done by memory stick now...
