Quick power supply question...

These are the specs on my PSU. It's a 700watt power supply, but I have yet to learn about ampage and such.

Would this be powerful enough to power something like an HD 2900PRO or 8800GTS?

That would likely be overkill unless you're running SLI or Crossfire.

I've heard (may just be rumor), that if you let too much power of the PSU go unused, it has bad effects on it or something? Can anyone tell me if this is true?
