I currently own a VAIO VGC-RB33G [SPECIFICATIONS] and want to add some more Memory to it. I opened up the case and noticed that both of the 512mb sticks of RAM were Samsung branded. If I were add more memory to my PC, would I need to use the same brand or would I be able to use another brand? Also, which one would you recommend that I buy? My PC uses DDR 400 (PC3200).

It would be a good idea to use the same brand and make of RAM for sake of continuity in times and clock speeds, but it is not necessary. You can get faster/slower RAM of the same type and it will overclock or underclock itself to match the other stick.
I agreee with Mac above and don't really see the need to stick to same brands, unless you are trying to get matched pairs. BTW, Samsung makes memory for a LOT of the name brands. I do have to ask if you are really into gaming or photo editing? For general use; 1GB of RAM is usually enough. With that said; I have 2GB, but I do heavy photo editing.
