Hi, I'm currently looking to upgrade my graphics card but I'm totally lost

These are my current specs :

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+
1 GIG [Upgrading to 4gig]

And graphics card is an 8400 GS.

Now I'm totally lost when it comes to graphics cards so here it is.

I'm looking for an affordable upgrade for $100 or less.

Any suggestions? I'm looking for a site that compares GFX cards by showing how much FPS per game, but finding no luck.

Thanks in advance

Thank you very much for the suggestion and the sites. Will look into the GFX Card. I'm not sure if you picked this out without knowing, but I'm a gamer. So I'm looking for a gaming GFX card.

yes=) that was my assumption actually.

the 9600 is going to be a huge upgrade from the 8400

(i just responded to 2 posts with pretty much the same answer..)

this

Newegg.com - Palit AE+38500+HD52 Radeon HD 3850 512MB 256-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

is also a great card for the money

if you want to spend a little more, the 4850 is only about 169.99 now on newegg

(the 8800 series geforce, and 9800s are great cards, but they are also very expensive... at this point the 3850, 9600, and 4850 are the best options in my opinion)

Ahh, then that brings me to ATI vs Nvidia. haha... but I kinda wanted to stick with nvidia.

actually hes right, i didnt even notice that

and they are basically the same price=P

go for the ones vernong linked, and i'll go re-link them to the guy i responded to earlier

The 3850 has a 256 bus width. While the 9600 GSO only has 192. The 3850 will gain more out of over clocks. But the 9600 GSO is still GREAT for the price.
