Question before first boot.

There is no clr cmos jumper, the manual says to use a jumper cap to short 2 pins on the clrcmos0 for 5 seconds.

The cpu may very well be the problem. I think i got it seated right, it had an arrow on one corner and the mobo had an arrow and i lined them up. It seemed to drop right into place. I was going to put the cpu that i know works in last night but other things came up. Going to do it later on tonight.
 
You may ahve tested the extra RAM you had in another computer but I would try leaving that RAM out and testing the ORIGINAL RAM you had.

I've dealt with this sort of problem before and it almost always turns out to be RAM. Have you tried just one stick of ram?
