Hey guys, first time newby poster here!

Got a question if any of you guys can help me with.

My friend just gave me a 9500 nvidia GT card. Currently my PC is using just a stock integrated graphics chip. My PC is this:

Amazon.com: HP Pavilion a6803w-b - Tower - 1 x Athlon X2 4850e / 2.5 GHz - RAM 3 GB - HDD 1 x 500 GB - DVD?RW (?R DL) / DVD-RAM - GF 6150 SE - Mdm - Vista Home Premium - Monitor : 20" Widescreen TFT ( HP 2009m ): Computer & Accessories

Basically what I'm wondering is if I need a new PSU for the card? The card says a minimum 350W to run, and my PC's psu is only 300W. My friend said it should still work fine even though its 50w under. Is that true? Will I be able to use it without buying a new PSU?

Thanks!

You can always try it to see if it works. GPU companies always over estimated minimum psu requirements to account for bad power supply companies. Unfortunately you most likely have a weak 300watt.

If you get a BSOD under load you know you do not have enough power.
