Default Question about graphics card upgrade

My current setup is-

1.5gb RAM
Pentium 4 3ghz (HT, if it matters)
and a Radeon X700 256mb PCI-E.

I am looking to upgrade my graphics card, most likely to
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150195
or something to that sort (Nvidia 7900GT Pci-E 256mb). My question is that if I were to buy that card, would my somewhat older processor bottleneck my system? Choke the card? Or is my processor still good?

I am actually quite tempted to quit PC Gaming for good .

Your processor is still ok. For that money you can get a 7900GTO which is better then the GT.

Ah, thank-you. What makes GTO so much better then the GT?

It's basically a downclocked GTX. But can easily be overclocked to GTX speeds.

Since I am a total Dumbass, I assume that the GTX is good then.

Would you happen to know how the card would run games such as, say, Oblivion?

The 7900GTO, probably high or max settings.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from ATI X850 XT, what a huge improvement for gaming graphics, I can run Oblivion @ 1280 x 1024 all maxed without any problem, the X850 XT stumbled at 1024 x 768, very frustrating. Rig : Athlon 64 4000+, 2 Gigs Patriot PC3200, 2 x 250 Gig WD 16 MB drives, Watercooled with Coolermaster Aquagate
Wish I could get that on my current...erm...'rig'.

Thanks for showing me this .

Is that a review for the GTO?

dont forget about the cost for a new PowerSupply... unless your already using one powerfull enough for the 79GTX.

youl need probably at least a ~450 or ~500watt Dual 12v rail PSU
see here for some general info on witch brands to stick with:

After asking around on a few other forums, I got linked to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102051

Which, for only like 5 dollars more, is supposed to blow the 7900 out of the water. Comments on this card?
