quality of motherboard a danger?

i have a Gigabyte i915PL which i assume is a pretty cheap motherboard, and i was just wondering if using it during OC of my prescott/evga will pose a threat to them? also will i see any difference in applying some as5 as supposed to the stock thermal pad (didnt want to waste a post because i have been posting alot today) thanks

you do not apply AS5 to the thermal pad. the thermal pad must be removed before it can be applied. the board is from gigabyte so it is of decent quality. even if it isn't a particularly good model it should be fine

nah i know i would need to remove the pad i was wondering if it would be worth it, ive heard that as5 is much more stable and it doesnt have to go through the same kind of melting and hardening that those pads do... just wondering if it would be worth the time to remove it?
