what are the pros and cons of making your own system versus buying one?

Pro: Its Cheaper
Pro: You can customize it to suit YOUR needs
Pro: You can make it look pimp

Con: Theres the slight change that you screw up while making it.

What Adam said and a pro would be that you know EXACTLY what is in you comp and the inner workings.

Plus it gives you experience. So say you want to update in the future, you can go about it easily.

but you get no tech support if you make your own. also no warranties. isnt that a concern?

Its not like theres NO help available.Take this forum for example. People in here have done so much work on computers they can help you with almost anything. And i know most components come with individual warranties.

If you put an engine in a car you can probably put together a computer. Its not as hard as everyone thinks
