processor dillemma

i find myself torn between the choice of cpu for my new build. i can afford either a 4000+ san diego or an x2 3800+ manchester. so should i future proof by going with the dual core or go with the san diego. the x2 is $500 au and the 4000+ is $520 au. i don't suppose anyone could post some cross benchmarks between the two. i googled some but couldn't find any

yeah i know i should now better but i truly am torn because the sandy is more powerful at the moment. and i'm a live the moment kinda guy. that and the fact i'm chronically uncertain, i was thinking to myself last night i really should get the x2 and then this voice in the back of my head screamed like a little child "BUT 4000+ IS A BIGGER NUMBER" lol. i was curious about benchmarks just to see what the x2 performs like against the 4000+ with the current software.
