Default Processor Compatible?

How would I go about finding out if an Intel Celeron SL6ZY 2.5GHz 128 400 CPU Processor is compatible with a Dell Latitude CPt S500GT? Also, the reason I'm asking is because I want a better processor, and I found some pretty cheap ones on eBay, such as this Celeron. So, just it safe to buy computer stuff on eBay?

I'm not an expert on laptops, nor processors, but I dont think you could upgrade the laptop with a Celeron 2.5.

It originally came with a Pentium 3 500 Mhz, and you can't install a processor that is 5X faster, it won't work.

So I basically have to just get a new laptop if I want more than a gig or so? What about 1.66?
