Which processor is better for price/performance?

AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000 = $74 (after promo code)
Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 89W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

or

Intel Pentium E5200 = $84
Newegg.com - Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

If I go with intel build I will pair it with Newegg.com - BIOSTAR TForce TP43D2A7 LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

If I go with AMD, what motherboard should I get?

The E5200 is better, especially if you overclock it.

But if you are set on AMD, the 6000+ is never recommended, as it throws some crazy heat and the X2 5400+ can overclock better and consumes less power (e5200 is still better)
