Default processing power of sempron 2800+

how would the processing power of a amd sempron 2800+ compare to an intel? like what intel processer would it compare to.

its amazing isn't it, how often is this question asked macdude? the first time i ever saw a p-rating i made the assumption that it was the equivelant number of mhz. yes its equal or better than a 2.8ghz prescott.

i hear it is alot lower then 2.8 supposedly :S i hear a different story from every person. can any one proove the statement with a link or something?

it is clocked at 1.6ghz from memory but in comparison to a p4 it is approximately 2.8ghz. i shall post a link to benchmarks in a second

actually i'm sorry i may have been partially wrong. semprons can't quite keep up with the P4 on stuff like raw processing power when encoding etc but they still excel in games. so on some things the p-rating would better reflect a celeron and on others it would still be comparable to the p4.

no way on **** is it compared to a p4....it's cache is 256.....

the sempron is compared to the celeron series with 256 cache also, so it would be a 2.8ghz celeron d
