ive got a itx case and when i put everything in and turn on the computer, i can hear the fan making a noise on something ie hitting something, ive checked and theres no cables or nothing touching it i can only think of the case is really small and its just hitting the case, do you think its ok if i remove it or will it fry my cpu, im only going to be using it for internet, music etc etc nothing demanding

ps, its a atom 330, the dual core running at 1.6

If you are talking about a case fan then unplug it, see if the noise stops and check temps with real temp.

If you are talking about the heatsink fan then I would not remove it. You could unplug it and load into bios to see if the noise stops but I would not run it for long without a heatsink fan.

Could also be a fan that just needs to be replaces as well.
