Which printer is the cheapest to maintain?

I need to buy a good printer, one that prints well but doesn't have super expensive ink replacements and stuff like that.

Which printers do you recommend????

Also what should i get a laser one or ink one?

I need a printer that's good, lasts and cheap to maintain!

You save alot of money in the long time by buying a laser printer. A toner cartridge might not be cheaper than an inkjet cartridge, but a toner cartridge lasts on average 2,000 pages (some are 1,500 and others 2,500), which is alot more than any inkjet I've ever heard of.

Toner cartidges are also all rated at how many pages they'll print, so you know what you're buying, and can shop around on the per sheet cost. You can usually get much cheaper cartridges online than in the store, too.

I bought a brother HL-2140 a couple weeks ago, a monochrome (no color, just black and white) laser printer for $50. I checked into some cartidges and they go for about $20-$30 for the 2,000 page ones.
